Why Antes Change the Game

An ante is a forced bet that every player must post on every hand. When antes are in play, the preflop pot grows larger, which significantly increases the profitability of opening and stealing.

BBA (Big Blind Ante)

The modern tournament standard (WSOP, WPT, etc.). The big blind posts the entire ante on behalf of the table.
